Oregon-based aggregates producer Sunny Valley Sand and Gravel lost a total of $15,000 in worth of equipment last week to two separate thefts at a project site in Sunny Valley, Oregon, according to a report from MailTribune [3].

When the thefts occurred, the company had been waiting for final approval on permits for a job at the 300-acre site near Daisy Mine Road.

Company officials said a $5,000 welder was taken last Monday night. Sunny Valley Sand and Gravel General Manager Jack Smith noted that someone used bolt cutters to remove the chain.

A 2,000-gallon water tank, worth $10,000, was taken Thursday night or early Friday morning. Smith said someone smashed through an aluminum gate while leaving.

Smith said other tools are missing, but on Saturday the company was still working to account for everything that was gone. At that point, the Sunny Valley Sand and Gravel had already filed a police report with the Josephine County Sheriff’s Department and was waiting to file additional reports.
