The Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission on Wednesday approved $4.8 billion in transportation projects that could would go into effect if state voters approve a transportation-focused ballot measure at the polls next month, the Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) [1] announced Wednesday.

On Aug. 5, state citizens will vote on Constitutional Amendment 7, which would increase the state sales tax by ¾ of a cent for 10 years to fund specific transportation projects. The list of projects approved by the commission was created to show voters exactly how the revenue from the tax would be used.

The list of approved projects is mostly comprised of road and bridge projects, though other modes of transportation such as aviation, rail, pedestrian and more are also included.
