Aerodyne Armadillo Is Cost-Effective, Energy-Efficient Airlock Valve for Managing Dust, Particulates. Duckbill valve used with bag filters or cyclones under negative pressure
CLEVELAND, Ohio – August 25, 2009 – Aerodyne®, a division of Abanaki Corporation, announces the addition of the Vacu-Valve® Armadillo to its line of material-handling equipment. The Vacu-Valve Armadillo is a closed construction airlock valve that provides positive seal under hoppers, cyclones and dust collectors. Because this dust-discharge valve requires no controls, lubrication or power source, it is both energy saving and maintenance-free — allowing it to operate for about one-sixth the cost of a rotary airlock valve used for discharged dust or abrasive materials.
The Armadillo’s duckbill valve design allows free-flowing continuous discharge, automatically adjusting to the desired vacuum. See an animated demonstration of how a duck-bill airlock valve works at www.aerodyneus.com/013.
Aerodyne’s Vacu-Valve Armadillo is offered in carbon or stainless steel construction. Sleeves for this airlock valve are available in neoprene, viton, and white nitrile, making it suitable for general use, high-temperature or food grade applications. Like its sister product, Vacu-Valve® Platypus, the Armadillo can be found in such industries as foundries, mining, cement, pharmaceutical, cereal, plastics, chemical and manufacturing.
The Armadillo airlock valve has a durable enclosure making it useful in controlling dust in windy outdoor applications or in applications where the valve is not positioned close to the collection container. The enclosure has an easily removable access door.
Aerodyne Vacu-Valves have been efficiently and economically emptying particulate from dust collectors and bag houses for more than 60 years. Aerodyne offers a wide range of valves including rotary, double-dump, knife and screw-type.
