Atlas Copco

SmartRig crawler drill

Atlas Copco’s new ROC F9C SmartRig crawler drill lets operators lay out shot patterns on a computer and then helps them follow through with GPS-guided, automated drilling for higher accuracy and speed. It also documents performance for better planning and accountability. The company says the crawler drill adjusts impact power and feed pressure to suit rock conditions, achieving smoother drilling and reducing stress on the drill steel.

Bridgestone Firestone

Off-highway retread source

Bridgestone Firestone Off Road Co. plans to highlight its retread tires manufactured with Continuum tread rubber at the show. The company says the integration of new tire and retread solutions will be very attractive to off-highway fleets that want to run highly efficient and environmentally friendly tire-management programs.

BTI

Powerhouse breaker

Breaker Technology Inc. (BTI) plans to highlight its new BXR160 rugged hydraulic breaker. It offers an extra-long stroke design which improves the power-to-weight ratio of the breaker, providing the widest carrier range (120,000 to 220,000 pounds) and power available, according to the company. Features include a working weight of 12,000 pounds, an 8-inch diameter, a flow range from 85 to 120 gallons per minute, and an operating pressure from 2,030 to 2,755 pounds per square inch.

Caterpillar

Underground haul truck

Caterpillar Inc. says its new 55-metric-ton AD55B underground articulated truck features more power and enhanced braking and retarding for fast speed on grade and great productivity. The Cat C27 Acert engine produces 805 gross horsepower for a 20-percent increase in speed when fully loaded. The truck also features enhanced operator comfort and safety, ease of maintenance, and a seven-speed planetary power shift transmission.

Continental Crushing & Conveying

High-tech pulleys

Continental Crushing & Conveying will showcase its Continental JLV Pulleys with keyless locking elements between end-discs and shafts. According to the company, the stress-balanced end-discs design philosophy eliminates high-stress areas in the pulley, which can cause failure.

Deister Machine

Extends oil life

Deister Machine Co., Inc. plans to highlight its new System Saver, which the company says is designed to extend the life of anti-friction bearings by removing the contaminants in the lubricating oil. The system extends oil change intervals and time by filtering the oil rather than changing it.

Dyno Nobel

Electronic blast initiation system

Dyno Nobel Inc. will display its electronic initiation system, DigiShot, which provides accurate timing, ease of use, and minimal on-bench components. Delay timing is defined on the blast box; the blaster can choose either auto-programmed or fully programmable. The system can fire up to 300 detonators in a blast with up to 15 detonators per hole, and will support multiple blast boxes – one master and up to four slaves can be used in series for larger blasts.
