ConExpo-Con/Agg is such a big show, that it’s hard to wade through all the information about new equipment and education sessions to choose the ones that are right for you. So, we did a bit of digging and came up with a short list of “Must Sees” that we think will be most interesting for those who work in the aggregate industry. We’ve included dates and times, as well as locations, when available. Hopefully, this list will make negotiating the show a little bit easier.
Caterpillar’s new 775G off-highway truck is the company’s first machine to go into production with a Tier 4 Final emissions solution. North Hall, booth 1913.
Kleemann/Wirtgen’s next-generation EVO Series track-mounted, mobile impact crusher features a new material flow concept that eliminates flow restriction throughout the entire plant. Central Hall, booth 5733.
Terex Cedarapids’ new CRC380HLS portable crushing and screening plant features a large cone hopper and overflow chute that allow for constant choke feeding of the machine. Gold Lot, booth 140.
W.S. Tyler’s new Haver palletizing disc boasts the ability to transform wasteful fines into transportable, saleable material. Blue Lot, booth 901.
T11 – Managing Quarry Operations: This presentation will explain how to survive by making the right choices and applying military decision-making methodology in the quarrying industry. Attendees will learn the tried and tested “Order of Battle” as a management tool for mining and quarrying. Tuesday, March 22; 7:30 – 9 a.m.
W11 – Maximizing Plant Productivity with Benchmarking and Performance: This presentation will demonstrate how to establish plant performance benchmarks, then evaluate and improve productivity. Real-life plants will be reviewed showing before and after operating results. Elements include benchmarking new and existing plants, reviewing performance through field samples, evaluating process equipment performance, identifying bottlenecks and inefficiencies, and maximizing plant productivity and profitability. Wednesday, March 23; 7:30 – 9 a.m.
W48 – Safety Risk Management for Construction & Mining: This presentation will explain how risk management can be used as a proactive tool to improve and maintain workplace safety by allowing management, operators, and regulators to move beyond reactive rulemaking to a cooperative system that can truly achieve zero harm. The session will include videos of some notable cases and statistics showing the benefits of good risk management. Attendees will receive a short worksheet to make a preliminary assessment of how their organizations manage risk. This session will be simultaneously translated in Spanish. Wednesday, March 23; 3 – 4:30 p.m.
TH21 – Game Change for Profit in Quarry Operations: This presentation will reference a field process improvement case study that yielded substantial gains in total economy and productivity by leveraging the chemical crushing effect in the drill/blast phase of unit operations. It will demonstrate concepts, technique, and organizational issues necessary for successful change and improvement and will help attendees see drilling and blasting as the true functional primary crusher. Thursday, March 24; 9:30 – 11 a.m.
