PERRY, Oklahoma — The Ditch Witch organization has introduced a new line of pneumatic piercing tools, Pierce Airrow II, which are designed to perform short- to medium-range compaction boring projects, pipe ramming and pushing, and pipe pulling.
Strength and simplicity are the keys to these tools™ productivity. Each model—there are seven in all, ranging from 2.25†to 4.25†(57-108 mm) outside diameter, with or without threaded heads—is constructed of single-piece, high-quality Aircraft quality steel that contains high amounts of nickel and is heat-treated to be extremely durable. And because these tools have fewer moving parts than the competition, they require less maintenance units that promise years of reliable service.
Everything about these tools is designed for outstanding efficiency,†says Kevin Smith, CMW product manager. Their unique striker design, for example, enables the tools to flex when they encounter a buried obstacle. The highly machined tool does not require wear rings that would require the tool to be disassembled more often for maintenance. These and other design features help Pierce Airrow II piercing tools give you more blows per minute than the competition—in some cases, as many as 100 more blows—so you can work faster and get more accomplished.â€
Other Pierce Airrow II features and benefits include tapered buttress thread joints (like drill pipe) that ensure positive locking and maximize strength at all threaded connections; a Nord-Lock® securing system that reinforces joints that are subject to extreme vibration or dynamic loads; and a ¼ turn reverse mechanism.
Optional equipment for Pierce Airrow II piercing tools includes nose expanders and replaceable heads that increase the diameter of the bore hole, and clamp-on rear expanders and tail adapters for pulling in PVC pipe or other material behind the tool.
