The units feature a rear-feed hopper configuration that allows the plant to be fed with a loader or excavator, or the rear hopper wall can be removed to allow a track-mounted primary plant to feed the screen plant directly. An end delivery conveyor can feed directly into another track plant or create a large stockpile; side discharge conveyors allow 10-foot stockpile heights. The company says its ceramic lagging provides significantly more traction than conventional lagging and is especially suited to abrasive or highly wet or dry applications. Constructed from hundreds of individual ceramic tiles molded into a durable rubber backing, ceramic lagging is said to cut maintenance costs, reduce wear from abrasive materials, and extend the life of key conveyor components as it eliminates the need to over-tension the belt for traction. The stackers are said to provide accurate, uniform stockpile placement in an environmentally responsible manner, and to reduce rolling iron requirements. The SuperStacker is available in lengths of 110, 130, 136, and 150 feet, with belt widths of 30 and 36 inches. Options include a radial-capable gullwing axle for highly mobile applications, and the “Wizard Touch” control system which is said to produce fully non-segregated stockpiles by using one of two built-in automated program, factory preset automation, or operator programmed automation. Stack-pac conveyors move easily Superior says its new portable stack-pac conveyors provide a fast, flexible method of connecting screens, crushers, and washing equipment to a stacking conveyor because they can be easily added or removed from an operation depending on stockpile parameters. The company says its Stack-Pac jump conveyors come in lengths from 50 to 100 feet, and in belt widths of 24 to 42 inches. They can be set up in accordion fashion for length variations. Drive One is offered in nine sizes of pre-engineered assemblies, all mounted on a common swing base. The system can be used on any make or model of machinery and is available at participating John Deere dealerships. Dur-X-LiveWire is available in the company’s Xtreme high tensile, oil-tempered, or stainless steel wire. The wires are held in place by 60 durometer molded rubber strips that are said to allow optimal flexing action to keep screen openings clear. Durex says the product is ideal for dry screening applications where materials contain high-moisture content and a high proportion of fines. The Fast Trax machinery is designed to move with a highway demolition crew, crushing and screening as it goes. The company says this mobility leads to dramatic cost-efficiencies compared to other methods of pavement recycling, especially if the crushed concrete or asphalt is used for base material on the same job.
For jobs requiring a jaw crusher, the FT 2650 plant weighs 105,000 pounds and is powered by a 250-horsepower diesel. The plant can produce up to 300 tons per hour in hard rock or recycling applications. Also new from Kolberg-Pioneer is the track mounted FT Apron Feeder, which is described as a mine-quality machine designed for extreme operating conditions. Recommended for wet, sticky materials in particular, the apron feeder provides positive feed action while reducing material slippage. has introduced the GS1209 Lab Size Crusher for small production
rates or lab applications like delumping or uniformed cubical
processing. 

International
Truck formally introduced what it bills as the world’s largest
pickup truck last fall. The International CXT combines the chassis
of an International Severe Service truck used for dump trucks and
snow plows with a spacious crew cab design that seats five
comfortably. International says it hauls three times the payload of
consumer pickups. It features all-wheel drive and air brakes, and
has towing, dumping, and tilt-bed capabilities.
Hitachi
has introduced its largest rigid-frame haul truck, the EH5000. With
a payload of 320 to 360 tons, depending on trim, the new machine has
a maximum Gross Machine Weight rating of 1.16 million pounds. It
employs Hitachi’s proprietary AC drive technology and is available
with a choice of 2,700-horsepower engines or an optional
3,000-horsepower engine. Hitachi claims its drive system has 51%
more rimpull and 37% more retarding speed than competing AC systems.
It is also said to be 2 to 3% more efficient than comparable DC
drives.

Kolberg-Pioneer
is targeting road contractors as well as aggregate producers with
its new Fast Trax line of track-mounted crushing and screening
plants. The latest additions to the line are the FT 2650 jaw
crusher, the FT 4250 horizontal shaft impact crusher, and FT apron
feeder. The Fast Trax line also includes track-mounted impact
crushers and horizontal screens.
The
FT 4250 horizontal shaft impactor can be driven off its transport
trailer and start crushing concrete immediately, says Kolberg-Pioneer.
It can crush on the go and windrow material. With an optional
vibrating screen package, it can produce up to three products
simultaneously. A 400-horsepower diesel with hydraulic controls
powers the entire plant: feeder, crusher, on-board conveyors,
vibrating screen, and optional cross belt magnet and tracks.
