New Holland Redesigned 3- and 4-yard
Models
New
Holland has unveiled Tier 3 upgrades of its W170B and W190B wheel
loaders. The 195-horsepower W170B competes in the 3-cubic-yard
bucket class, while the 227-horsepower W190B competes in the
4-cubic-yard class. Both units got an increase in engine horsepower,
along with redesigned cabs that feature better visibility, more
floor space, and a new steering column with standard LCD screen to
check pressures and recalibrate the calipers. The machines offer
four power modes so that the operator can optimize fuel efficiency
based on performance requirements.

High-production impact crusher plant
Terex
Finlay says its new I-1312 impact crusher plant features high
throughput, large reduction ratios, and fast setup. The
multiple-speed impactor is designed for primary and secondary
crushing of limestone and asphalt and concrete rubble. It utilizes a
high-performance Cedarapids 5048LP impact crusher with a large
discharge opening and standard three-bar or optional four-bar
configuration. Other standard features include hydrostatic drive,
advanced electronic control system, hydraulically assisted apron
setting, grizzly feeder with integral pre-screen, selectable
discharge to bypass conveyor or main conveyor, and dust suppression
on the main conveyor.

Emergency air source
Drager
Safety has introduced a National Institute for Occupational Safety
and Health (NIOSH)-approved Supplied Airline Respirator with a 5- or
10-minute self-contained air cylinder for emergency use potentially
hazardous environments. The hip-mounted unit is said to be easy to
use and is configured for up to 300 feet or 12 hose length sections
from the air source.

Mobile crushing’s new generation
Metso
Minerals heralds its new Lokotrack LT1315 and LT1415 as an
entirely new generation of mobile primary impact crushing plants.
The new models are said to combine constant high crushing capacity
(up to 900 metric tons per hour), a broad range of process options,
operator friendliness, and dust and noise-reduction options. The
units can be transported on a standard trailer and have low
transport heights, according to Metso. They can be equipped with a
magnetic separator and pan feeder below the crusher for trouble-free
processing of recycled material containing rebar. They use Nordberg
NP Series impact crushers and can handle medium-hard rock such as
limestone as well as rock-based recycled materials.

Bigger, tougher belt cleaner
Richwood
says its new 1C-ITC Magnum Belt Cleaner has been engineered to
handle extreme bulk-handling conditions on 84- and 96-inch conveyor
belts. The new design is said to provide the same cleaning
performance on large conveyors as the standard Model 1C provides on
lesser belt widths. It uses Richwood’s patented ITC blade media,
which incorporates a unitized blade cartridge with three media
layers. Its extreme duty tensioning design is said to work in all
operating conditions, including highly corrosive and extreme service
environments.

Replacement screen panels
The
new Ty-Max polyurethane screen panels offer up to 7 percent more
screening open areas than conventional tension screens without
sacrificing wear life, says
W.S. Tyler.
Available in square and slotted openings ranging from .008 to 2.5
inches and in a variety of compounds, thickness, and durometers, the
new screens are a direct replacement for most popular OEM designs.

Enters aggregate processing field
Wirtgen Group has acquired a majority
ownership position in Kleeman GmbH, a German-based international
manufacturer of portable and stationary aggregate processing
equipment. Wirtgen Road Technologies is a leading supplier to the
road market, with Wirtgen-branded milling and recycling machines,
Hamm compactors, and Voegele pavers. The Kleeman line will be the
focus of a new Wirtgen Mineral Technologies segment, according to a
company announcement.

High-speed pre-cleaner
ASGCO
designed its new Skalper MDX pre-cleaner for high-speed,
high-tonnage conveyor systems in above-ground and underground
mining. It has heavy-duty urethane blades to withstand abusive
conditions. They mount against the head pulley to provide continuous
cleaning. The adjustable 6-inch blade segments can be replaced by
removing two bolts. ASGCO says the most unique feature on the
Skalper MDX is the torque cam action lever. The impact force creates
torque that rotates the blade allowing it to self-adjust to the
angle of the belt. The company says this is ideal for removing high
volumes of carry-back with minimal blade wear. It also prevents the
mounting tube from bending because it allows the tube to rotate and
to absorb the shock.

Longer-lasting linings
Cleveland-based
Tribco is promoting a 100-percent Kevlar fiber composite lining for
brake/clutch plates that it claims lasts three to five times longer
than other linings. The company’s Braketex and Clutchtex linings are
said to be non-abrasive and ideal for truck clutches as well as wet
and dry brakes used on crushers, excavators, loaders, and other
aggregates industry equipment. The company stocks replacement brake
pads and clutch facings, relines plates and pads, and custom
fabricates to order.
