Flexco
Consistent belt cleaning
Flexco introduced the MMP Medium-Duty
Precleaner to its Mineline family of conveyor belt cleaning
products. Designed for underground mines and worst-case
aboveground applications, the MMP is said to provide
consistent cleaning performance, long operating life, and
low maintenance in tough abrasive conditions. It features
the company’s exclusive 10-inch TuffShear blade to provide
optimal blade tip tension on high-speed, high-load conveyor
applications. It is designed with 6 inches of useable
urethane, enabling the blade to deliver 20 to 30 percent
longer wear life than conventional blades in most
medium-duty applications. A faceted profile design renews
the blade’s cleaning edge as it wears, and blade replacement
can be accomplished without the use of tools.

The BCi belt scale, from
Rice Lake
Weighing Systems, features a capacity of 10,000 tons per
hour and up to 1,200 feet per minute belt speed. It can
deliver both materials and accuracy thanks to real-time
statistical data forwarded through a variety of network
options. Built to handle conveyor widths ranging from 18 to
72 inches, the BCi features four laterally opposed shear
beam load cells mounted in a unitized single idler scale
frame. The system features an integrator based on the 920i
HMI programmable controller. The open architecture solution
allows the integrator to support other manufacturer’s weigh
frames. Abundant processing power and expanded networking
capabilities are said to enable the integrator to easily
communicate with printers, PCs, remote displays, ERP
systems, PLCs, and other peripheral equipment. The large,
backlit LCD graphical display can show rate and speed time
displayed by the hour, minute, or second, as well as
measurements in feet or meters.

FMC Technologies
Crusher loading feeder
FMC Technologies introduced its Syntron
Crusher Loading Feeder, a cost-effective alternative to the
“feeder-plus-rotary-distributor” set up commonly used to
ensure uniform material feed to cone crushers. The feeder
comes with a specially configured discharge that blends
fines with coarser materials to provide more uniform
distribution of material to the cone. The material flow
pattern is said to be cone friendly in terms of motor
amperage requirements, as well as to result in more even
crusher wear and improved fracture ratio. The system is
designed for ease of installation and maintenance.

Siemens
Dynamic weighing information
Siemens Energy & Automation, Inc.
launched the Siemens Milltronics brand MBS belt scale that
it describes as a reliable and economical belt scale that
provides dynamic weighing information for process
indication. A basic, modular, medium-duty scale, it is
designed with an accuracy of plus or minus 1.0 percent. It
features high-performance, parallelogram-style aluminum,
strain gauge load cells to provide instant response to
vertical loading. It is said to be unaffected by uneven belt
loading, high belt speeds, and horizontal forces such as
belt drag or idler friction. The new belt scale does not
have a cross bridge, which reduces material buildup and
allows universal fit on most conveyor widths.

Martin Engineering
Self-adjusting skirtboard seal
Martin Engineering offers the Martin
Boco Self-Adjusting Skirting, a belt edge sealing system
that automatically maintains sealing pressure at the sides
of a transfer point to keep material on the belt and to
prevent loading zone spillage. The skirting is said to float
on the belt and to self-adjust. Supported on pressure arms
between two steel plates, the system’s rubber sealing strip
rises and falls with fluctuations in belt travel to
automatically maintain an effective seal as it wears. The
company says the skirting system has the lowest belt edge
requirement of any commercial skirtboard sealing system and
provides an effective seal with as little as 1.25 inches of
free area outside the conveyor’s steel skirtboard and each
side of the belt.

KPI
Extendable radial stacker
To help producers meet increasingly
demanding specifications,
KPI offers its line of extendable
stackers, including the 110-, 130-, and 150-foot
SuperStacker conveyor models. The line is designed to give
producers the ability to save time and money by stockpiling
in-spec aggregate with a fully automated program in larger
volumes on the same real estate. A standard walking beam
axle allows for radial travel and road travel, while the
hydraulic set up eliminates the need for pins or chains. The

ASGCO
High-speed pre-cleaner
ASGCO designed its Skalper MDX
pre-cleaner for high-speed, high-tonnage conveyor systems in
above-ground and underground mining. It has heavy-duty
urethane blades to withstand abusive conditions. They mount
against the head pulley to provide continuous cleaning. The
adjustable 6-inch blade segments can be replaced by removing
two bolts. ASGCO says the most unique feature on the Skalper
MDX is the torque cam action lever. The impact force creates
torque that rotates the blade allowing it to self-adjust to
the angle of the belt. The company says this is ideal for
removing high volumes of carryback with minimal blade wear.
It also prevents the mounting tube from bending because it
allows the tube to rotate and to absorb the shock.

Smalis Conveyors
Portable radial stackers
Smalis Conveyors rolled out its news
line of road portable radial stackers featuring the
hydraulic powered “radial walker” axle-and-wheel assembly.
The patent-pending design includes dual wheels with
four-wheel disc brakes and enables the user to quickly and
easily switch the wheels hydraulically from the towable
position to the radial position. By employing the disc
brakes and hydraulic power, these stackers are said to be
able to “walk” themselves from side to side, therefore
eliminating the need and cost of a separate power travel
mechanism. Currently, the systems are available in belt
widths of 30 and 36 inches and lengths of 90, 100, and 110
feet.

Richwood
Impact bed system
The
Richwood Combi-Pact/Cushion Arc
Impact Bed System is designed for optimum support profile
and load zone protection of conveyor belting. The radius
design of the impact bed system eliminates idler junction
pinch points in the loading zones and matches the troughing
contour of a conveyor belt to deliver full belt-width
protection. The system is said to be able to replace
conventional impact idlers. It protects conveyors against
drag of a sagging belt in an extended length impact area by
distributing impact forces between idlers and saddles.
