Automatic Overload Protection
A patent-applied-for automated Overload
Protection System is now standard equipment on all Fast Trax
track-mounted jaw and impact crushing plants from
KPI-JCI. The company
says the new system optimizes plant productivity by consistently
regulating the crusher feed to prevent crusher overload and possible
plugging.
An onboard diagnostic screen allows the operator to view all the critical crusher, vibrating feeder, engine, and system performance data in Spanish or English.
Meets ‘real requirements’
Extec says the new downsized version of its X44
SBS track-mounted crusher has been “specifically adapted to the market’s
real requirements.” The new X38SBS employs the same technology as the
X44 SBS, but features the compact Telsmith 39SBS cone unit, which makes
a compact frame design possible. The new plant is powered by a
350-horsepower diesel engine.
New 7-yard loader
Dressta has introduced the market’s newest
7-cubic-yard wheel loader with its 560E, which features a new Tier 3
turbocharged 427-horsepower engine, joystick boom and bucket controls,
hydrostatic steering, and a high-visibility cab. The E-series production
machine has a three-speed, full powershift, countershaft transmission
and a 92,549-pound operating weight. It uses Z-bar linkage for maximum
breakout force and a single bucket cylinder to reduce weight in front of
the machine and enhance payload capacity. Oil change intervals have been
increased to 500 hours.
Productive in tight quarters
Drillers’ Choice says its new Rockbuggy mobile
drill is ideal for drilling oversized material in quarries or at
construction sites where high production is essential and working space
is at a premium. It is powered by an 85-horsepower diesel and features
4-by-4 independent hydrostatic drive and three steering modes. It uses
an Atlas Copco ROC 1132 hydraulic drill that produces 15 horsepower of
output power and can drill a 2.5-inch hole in granite at a rate of three
feet per minute, according to the company.
Prevents lift station blockages
Emuport says its Prepackaged Lift Stations are
now available with an integral solids separation system that prevents
lift station blockages by separating the solids content from fluids.
Major solid particles never come in contact with the pump but are still
moved and pumped into the discharge pipeline efficiently. The system
allows users to utilize smaller, more energy efficient pumps, according
to the manufacturer.
Cost-effective composite wire
RhinoWire is a new composite wire screening
medium that outlasts traditional wire by four to six times, according to
Tandem Products. The company says it blends several composite materials
into a matrix to create the medium. It is said to reduce total costs by
30 to 50 percent, resist binding and plugging, and to install exactly
like wire cloth. It is lighter and quieter than wire screen cloth and is
recommended for both wet and dry applications. Field trials have
included dry granite and quartzite, and results have been excellent, the
company reports.
RhinoWire is available in 12 square openings ranging from 3/16 inch to 1-1/2 inch and installs the same as wire cloth utilizing a No. 2 shrouded hook.
Protects large motors
A new grounding system from Electro Static
Technology is said to protect large motors and power generators from
bearing failure by channeling harmful shaft currents away from bearings
to ground. The Aegis iPro Shaft Grounding Ring comes in a range of sizes
that can accommodate even the largest diameter motor shaft, and it comes
in mating halves to facilitate field retrofits on coupled equipment.
New process literature
Phoenix Process Equipment has published a new
brochure covering its Model D auto/CHEM dry polymer system and its Model
E auto/CHEM Emulsion polymer sy-stem. The Model D system meters and
mixes dry chemicals with water and then delivers the slurry to
thickening and/or dewatering equipment.
Unique feeder fits in
Thayer Scale designed its new “SI” Insertion
weigh-belt module to fit easily into an existing belt or vibratory
conveyor line. The SI feeder comes in either scale over or scale under
design. Its short support framework and a 24-inch-long V-guided conveyor
(12, 18, or 24 inches wide), make it an ideal weighing module for
insertion into a transition space between existing conveyors or
equipment, according to the company.
Time clock plus
TrakitGPS says it designed its new BioTrakit biometric sensor and software solution to act as a time clock for office workers and drivers in the aggregate industry. The system works with any computer that has a USB port, allowing users to sign in or out by simply touching the sensor with a finger. The system works with the company’s TrakitGPS Web-based tracking and dispatch software.
Briefs
Deister Machine Co. was rated the No. 1 supplier for 2006 by Vulcan Materials Co.
KPI-JCI has released extensive new brochures for
seven product lines.
The new literature ranges from the 14-page Material Separation Solutions to a 22-page presentation of the company’s new crushers.
Volvo Construction Equipment has claimed the world’s No. 1 spot in wheel loader sales thanks to the 70-percent purchase of Chinese manufacturer Lingong late last year. Volvo CE chief Tony Helsham said the company will sell around 25,000 wheel loaders a year. Volvo CE also claims to be number one in articulated haulers and number four in hydraulic excavators worldwide.
Godwin Pumps has completed a large-scale factory redesign and expansion that it says will result in faster, more flexible product deliveries, and better product availability.
Bridgestone Firestone has launched Continuum-brand retread materials from Bandag to enhance off-road tire life and performance.
