Impact cradle absorbs forces
Martin Engineerings Guardabelt heavy-duty impact cradle is designed for conveyor transfer points that experience loading-zone impacts up to 17,000 lb. Impact bars are composed of a 1-in.-thick layer of UHMW polyethylene for the belt to glide over, backed by a 4-5/8-in. layer of rubber to cushion impact forces. Each bar is reinforced with a backbone of mild steel. Guardabelt absorbs the force of falling material, preventing damage to the belt and structure and stabilizing the belts line of travel to prevent spillage, according to Martin Engineering.

Cones create self-renewing wear surface
Arch Environmental Equipments Simplicity Chute Liner is made of 18- x 18-in. sheets of polyurethane formed with a multi-cone surface. As material impacts the chute, it builds up between the cones, developing a self-renewing wear surface. The chute liner also acts as a noise barrier and lasts about three times longer than a flat liner, Arch says. The sheets can be cut to fit existing chutes and are attached with bolts or studs through reinforced holes in the liner. Simplicity Chute Liner is designed for use with 1-in.-minus material.

Redesigned hammer makes bigger impact
Caterpillars redesigned H140D hydraulic hammer delivers an impact energy rating of 3,155 ft.-lb. with an impact frequency of 350 to 600 blows per minute, the company says. With an operating weight of 5,182 lbs., the hammer is matched to Cat 325C and 330C excavators, or comparably sized machines. Hydraulic operating pressure is 2,321 psi. An automatic shut-off feature prevents blank firing, reducing internal heat and stress, lowering maintenance costs, and extending hammer life, Cat says.

Tracked Primary Sized for Transport without Disassembly
Cedarapids expands its Cobra series of portable horizontal-shaft impact (HSI) crusher plants with the open-circuit CobraTrack 1300. The self-contained plants 9-ft. 4-in. travel width and 12-ft. travel height allows transport without component disassembly or oversized permitting. CobraTrack 1300 features a Cedarapids 5048 HSI with a solid steel, three-bar rotor and 45.5- x 40.5-in. feed opening to produce up to 400 tons per hour, according to the company. A remote unit provides control of the track-mounted crushers movement and of the 60-in.-long, variable-speed vibrating grizzly feeder. Fines can be directed to a 24-in.-wide cross conveyor or to the 42-in.-wide front crusher discharge conveyor. A hydraulically-driven magnetic separator is permanently mounted over the discharge conveyor.

Horizontal screen suspension system isolates vibration
Universal Engineering reintroduced the ScreenMaster horizontal vibrating screen. The ScreenMaster features deep channel framing and heavy plate construction with optional knockout plates for field installation of spray bars. A fully lined impact feed box absorbs shock loading and distributes material over the full width of the screen. Each deck is built 4 in. wider than most competitive models, says Universal, which provides 10 to 20 percent more usable screen area. An air spring/phasing arm suspension system helps isolate framing and support structures from vibration, the company says. Screen decks are removable on most models for easier replacement of screen wire from above. The two overhead alloy steel counterweight shafts are timed through positive timing and drive gears.
