Fully Automated Telescoping Stackers Superior Industries offers an eight-panel, color brochure outlining its TeleStacker Conveyors, a line of fully automated telescoping radial stackers. Units offer customizable automation packages that allow the creation of fully or partially desegregated stockpiles, while meeting more demanding specs and reducing labor and maintenance costs. Stockpiles are built in layers of windrows using an automated system that controls the movements of the stinger, incline and radial travel to complete a desegregated pile according to the limits and increments set by the operator. Models are outfitted with the patented FD series axle assembly, which provides safety and stability during operation and fast conversion from stockpiling to transport mode. Options include the 110-ft., 130-ft., and 150-ft. sizes. Quantis Reducers with Twin-tapered Bushings Rockwell Automation offers the Dodge Quantis reducer with twin-tapered bushings. The bushing system option is available on motorized shaft-mount and right-angle helical bevel products. The item was introduced on Dodge Torque-Arm speed reducers. Now as an option on MSM and RHB products, the feature provides easy-on/easy-off mounting for all reducer sizes from factional to 150 hp. A tapered bore in both sides of the reducers output hub fits snugly against a matching taper on the outer surface of the bushing, giving the feature its name. Twin-tapered bushings provide reliable support on both sides of the reducer and deliver maximum torque and shock load capability, while eliminating driven shaft damage and reducing wobble, according to the company. The bushing system also fits undersized shafts. Rivet-attached, Hinged-plate Fastener R5 MegAlloy rivet-attached, hinged-plate conveyor belt fasteners from Flexible Steel Lacing Company are made of a special metal that offers superior resistance to wear and abrasion, for heavy-duty applications requiring small-diameter pulleys such as those found on portable conveyors, trenchers, cold planers and construction equipment. According to the company, the new fasteners provide two to three times more wear life than conventional steel fasteners. Fasteners are recommended on belts with thicknesses ranging from 7/32 in. to 7/16 in. and with mechanical fasteners ratings up to 450 P.I.W. Fasteners operate smoothly around end pulleys with diameters as small as 9 in. for belts operating at 100 percent of their tension ratings, according to the company. Air-Supported Conveyor Brochure A six-page brochure discussing the advantages of the Stealth Air-Supported Belt Conveyor in the transportation of bulk solids is available from Martin Engineering. Stealth units use air pressure passing through openings in the belt support trough to eliminate the need for conventional idlers, says the company. Applied to the belts bottom surface, this film of air supplies almost frictionless support for the moving and loaded belt. According to the company, advantages of the design include reductions in friction, which results in reduced energy expense and increased belt life, and the need for only a single, low-horsepower fan to support the belt on a conveyor up to 600-ft. in length. Stealth conveyors incorporate a patented system that allows for retrofitting of existing conventional (troughing idler) conveyors. A modular design provides effective and economical upgrades of even portions of existing conveyors, according to the company. The machine has been successfully operating in underground applications, such as Conco Westerns North Aurora, Ill., operation, which produces more than 1 million tons of limestone per year. The Lippmann unit has increased capacity 20 to 25 percent, according to Delmar Hansen, the mines general superintendent. The jaw uses a unique chamber design, a larger eccentric throw and a toggle plate set at an optimum angle for crushing action resulting in higher crushing capacity, according to Lippmann. The crushers oil lubrication system pre-lubes the bearings prior to starting. Oil is filtered as it is pumped through the system and a large tank provides a cooling and supply reservoir. Gauges confirm flow and temperature. Greystone Aggre-spec III Program Greystone, Inc.s Windows-based Aggre-Spec III controls system is designed to allow operators to consistently maintain production of specification sand products. Designed for multi-tasking with other Windows programs for data logging, trending and reporting, its recording techniques monitor feed material-to-spec product ratio. The program detects potential stockpile problems. Management can also observe trends with accurate production records, says the company. The programs two-method system automatically selects the best process for re-blending sand. Production increases by up to 15 percent can be achieved over programs using single-method systems, according to Greystone. Operators can produce up to two spec products at a time. Rammer 20 Series Hammers Rammer 20 Series hammers are designed to provide maximum breaking power at all blows regardless of engine speed, according to the company. The Rammer Constant Blow Energy design is used on six basic 20 series models with ratings from the 200 to 1,600-ft. lb. impact energy classes. Designed for use on smaller carriers such as mini-excavators, skid steer and backhoe loaders, the 20 Series models have working weights ranging from 290 lbs. to 1,810 lbs.
