DirtSquirt, from the National Environment Service Co. (NESCO), is a portable wheel wash system for quarries, cement plants, and job sites where mud, dirt, and other debris on equipment tires cause tracking problems. It includes a 200-psi pump module, dual spray bars, a utility bump, presence detector, connecting hoses, and replacement spray nozzles. The DirtSquirt is designed to eliminate labor-intensive clean-up and to easily be removed and re-installed at other sites, according to the manufacturer.

John Deere Offers Large Excavators

The engine’s oil change interval has been extended from 250- to 500 hours. A swing-out oil cooler and hinged air conditioner condenser minimize cleaning time, according to the manufacturer.

The L150E, L180E, L220E, and L330E have bucket sizes ranging from 4.1 to 19.5 cu. yds. and machine weights from 23.2 to 52.2 tons. These models are equipped with Volvo’s patented lift-arm system, TP-Linkage, and a hydraulic attachment bracket. Other features include Volvo’s Contronic electronic monitoring system and load-sensing hydraulics. The E-Series wheel loaders are powered by Volvo, Tier 2-compliant, electronically-controlled, low-emission engines with high torque. The automatic powershift transmission is designed to match the low-rev engines, which provides rimpull and full hydraulic power in the 1,100 to 1,600 rpm working range, according to Volvo. All E-Series loaders have the Volvo Car Cab II with two-step air filtration.

Smart Bearings Support PM Programs
Rockwell Automation published a new brochure featuring its line of Dodge Smart Bearings. The 16-page, four-color brochure contains photographs, charts, drawings, graphs, and screen shots that depict the application potential and performance capabilities. The brochure discusses topics such as selection, ordering, available thermocouple and accelerometer kits, and zero speed switches. To support predictive maintenance programs, Smart Bearings offer early warnings when conditions change. The housings are pre-drilled for a variety of sensor kits that measure temperature, speed, and vibration. They are designed to be easy to specify, assemble, and connect, Rockwell said.

Castrol Develops New Engine Oil Line
Castrol Heavy Duty Lubricant’s Enduron S, Tection Extra, and Tection S all exceed the demand of current diesel engine oil specs, according to the company. Enduron S has a synthetic blend base stock, detergent properties, and low ash technology that Castrol said won’t compromise performance in older machines. Features for Tection Extra include viscosity control, a dispersive quality formation, and detergent properties to help neutralize higher acid levels. Tection S is designed to protect diesel engines by managing soot and controlling wear on piston rings, liners, and rod bearings.

Lagging Options Offered for Drum Motor
The new drum motor drive from Van der Graaf is built to improve belt traction and tracking, the company said. It is available with smooth or patterned lagging of rubber, urethane, or metal. The Van der Graaf drum motor has totally enclosed two-stage gearing that transmits power to the outer shell. Internal AGMA 12-rated gears are made of high alloy steel. Units only require an oil change after 50,000 hours of operation, which can be performed without removing the drum motor from the conveyor. The drum motor is available in a wide range of sizes, standard ratings, and speeds.
