California firefighters respond to quarry blaze

Apple Valley FDFirefighters with the Apple Valley Fire Protection District responded to a quarry fire in Apple Valley, California, earlier this month, according to a report from The Daily Press.

The fire started around 12:50 p.m. on June 8 at the Black Mountain Quarry. Three fire engines responded to the blaze.

A news release stated that the firefighters saw smoke coming from a rock crusher below the ground.

Fire Investigator Brian Pachman said the machine’s belts were on fire.

No injuries were reported. According to the Daily Press report, the fire’s cause is under investigation.
