Cemex’s Lake Wales Sand Mine

Six Cemex USA aggregates facilities will receive 2017 Community Relations Awards from the National Stone, Sand & Gravel Association (NSSGA) in recognition of their dedication and involvement in their local communities. The company’s Lake Wales Sand Mine in Florida will receive the Gold Community Relations Award, which is given to the top 10 percent of facilities receiving the highest scores from the NSSGA’s group of independent judges.

“We are proud to be part of the communities where we operate and are honored to be recognized by the NSSGA,” said Kirk Light, Cemex USA’s Regional President for Florida and Carolinas, in a press release. “These awards illustrate the hard work that Cemex and the Florida Aggregates team have put forth in being a good neighbor.”

Cemex’s 474 and Davenport Sand Mines in Florida each received Silver Community Relations Awards. FEC Quarry in Florida, along with the Lytle Creek and Moorpark Quarries in California, received bronze awards.
