Daimler Trucks North America recognizes 29 North American manufacturers for quality
Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA) has recognized 29 North American manufacturers from the United States, Canada, and Mexico as recipients of the Daimler Trucks North America Masters of Quality Supplier Award for 2010. The selected suppliers provide top quality components for the company’s Freightliner, Western Star, Thomas Built Buses, and Freightliner Custom Chassis Corporation brands.
The 24-year-old program recognizes suppliers who meet or exceed DTNA’s stringent quality standards and demonstrate an ongoing commitment to improving the quality of their products.
“The winners of the Masters of Quality award represent the ‘best of the best’ among suppliers providing parts and components to our assembly plants and aftermarket parts distribution centers, enabling us to deliver high quality trucks and support our customers with significant competitive advantages,” said Roger Nielsen, chief operating officer, DTNA.
“Despite increasing demands as the world pulls out of the recession, the Masters of Quality winners continued to meet our requirements day after day. This is no easy accomplishment. The Masters of Quality winners are the role models for our entire supplier base,” added Paul Romanaggi, general manager supplier management, DTNA.
The Masters of Quality award is the highest recognition that DTNA gives to its suppliers.
Eight manufacturers received the award for the first time.
Topping the list this year was Consolidated MetCo’s wheel and hub plant in Monroe, North Carolina. The ConMet facility has received the award for 21 out of 24 years.
