Diesel fuel price report: February 17, 2014

U.S. diesel fuel prices are up for the fourth consecutive week, rising $0.012 per gallon for the week ending February 17.

This week, diesel prices also rose in most U.S. regions, with just three regions experiencing declining costs.

The Rocky Mountain region experienced the greatest weekly increase, with diesel costing $0.037 per gallon more than a week ago [2] and $0.127 per gallon more than a year ago.

The Central Atlantic region experienced the greatest weekly decrease. Diesel prices in this region are $0.006 per gallon less than a year ago but $0.103 higher than a year ago.

The average price for diesel in the U.S. this week is $0.012 per gallon more than a week ago but $0.168 per gallon lower than a year ago.

Year-over-year costs declined in all but two regions.
