Diesel fuel price report: March 3, 2014

Following four consecutive weeks of rising costs, U.S. diesel fuel prices are down $0.001 per gallon for the week ending March 3.

This week, diesel prices also rose six U.S. regions and declined in four regions.

The Rocky Mountain region experienced the greatest weekly increase, with diesel costing $0.033 per gallon more than a week ago [1] but $0.064 per gallon less than a year ago.

The Gulf Coast region experienced the greatest weekly decrease this week, with diesel costing $0.013 per gallon less than a week ago and $0.272 less than a year ago.

The average price for diesel in the U.S. this week is $0.001 per gallon lower than a week ago and $0.114 per gallon lower than a year ago.

Year-over-year costs declined in all regions.
