Diesel fuel price report: March 31, 2014

U.S. diesel fuel prices are down for the third consecutive week, falling $0.013 per gallon for the week ending March 31.

This week, diesel prices also fell in all but one U.S. region.

The Central Atlantic region experienced the greatest weekly decrease this week, with diesel costing $0.036 per gallon less than a week ago [2] but $0.158 more than a year ago.

The Gulf Coast region experienced the only increase this week, rising $0.004 per gallon since last week but falling $0.111 since a year ago.

The average price for diesel in the U.S. this week is $0.013 per gallon lower than a week ago and $0.018 per gallon lower than a year ago.

Year-over-year costs declined in six regions and rose in four.
