Diesel fuel price report: May 5, 2014

Following two consecutive weeks of rising costs, U.S. diesel fuel prices are down $0.011 per gallon for the week ending May 5.

This week, diesel prices also fell in six of 10 U.S. regions.

The New England region experienced the greatest weekly decline this week, with diesel costing $0.027 per gallon less than a week ago but $0.195 more than a year ago.

The average price for diesel in the U.S. this week is $0.011 per gallon lower than a week ago and $0.119 per gallon higher than a year ago.

Year-over-year costs rose in all regions.
