The House Rules Committee will meet Wednesday to approve a new rule for the 2014 transportation and housing budget, according to a report from our sister site, Better Roads .
The rule could lead the way for the spending bill, H.R. 2610, to be considered by the House this month.
The legislation calls for $44.1 billion for the departments of Transportation (USDOT) and Housing and Urban Development (HUD), with $15.3 billion of that money used for transportation funding.
The budget passed the House Appropriations Committee last month on a vote of 28-20. It is likely to be considered by the House next week.
The House’s budget for USDOT and HUD is $9.9 billion lower than the Senate’s proposed budget .
