Komatsu America Corp. introduced its new PC650LC-11 hydraulic excavator with an operating weight between 140,456 lbs. and 145,284 lbs., as well as improved fuel efficiency, upgraded cab design, and enhanced serviceability. It is equipped with the latest KOMTRAX technology that relays fuel levels, Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) levels, operating hours, location, cautions, and maintenance alerts to the web application for analysis. A new Operator Identification System reports key operating information for multiple operators, while a new Auto Idle Shutdown function helps reduce idle time and operating costs.
“The PC650LC-11 is matched perfectly for high-production loading of 30-40 ton trucks, and well suited for deep sewer and water trenching applications,” says Justin Lantin, product marketing manager for Komatsu America, in a press release. “It is also designed to accommodate flexible job operations that require frequent transportation with reduced time required for disassembly.”
Standard features include the following:
- Tier 4 final Certified Komatsu SAA6D140E-7 Engine with 436 net horsepower; integrated Selective Catalyst Reduction system; and Variable Geometry Turbocharger and an Exhaust Gas Recirculation valve.
- Highly efficient hydraulic system designed and produced by Komatsu; integrated design with Komatsu open center load sensing hydraulic system and three working modes; additional hydraulic system enhancements; and a hydraulically driven, reversible cooling fan.
- Comfortable, quiet operator work environment with ISO certified cab mounted on viscous isolation dampers to reduce vibration levels; standard, heated air suspension high back seat with fully-adjustable armrests; AM/FM stereo radio, plus auxiliary input for connecting external devices; 12-volt power ports; 7-inch LCD color monitor that displays information in 33 languages; monitor panel that provides information on DEF fluid level, ecology guidance, operational records, fuel consumption history, and utilization information; display interface that combines vehicle information with wide landscape view from rearview camera so operator can view area directly behind the machine.
- Convenient maintenance and serviceability enhanced by handrails on both sides of the upper structure; large 16.4-gallon refill capacity DEF tank that provides 2:1 diesel to DEF refill ratio; reversible hydraulically driven fan; radiator and hydraulic oil coolers mounted side by side for easy maintenance and service; 24-volt lubrication pump with hose reel to ease grease-fitting maintenance; and Komatsu Equipment Management Monitoring System that monitors all critical systems, enables preventative maintenance, and provides trouble-shooting assistance.
