grakrh1515plant-21Grasan’s newest track-mounted primary crushing plants are each largely custom designed and built to meet customer needs and specifications for high-production aggregate applications.

“Actually, every machine we build in this class could be one of a kind,” said Grasan Vice President, Ed Eilenfeld, Jr.  “We engineer and build everything on the plant to our customer’s exact requirements and specifications.  We’ll use any crusher—impactor or jaw¾that the customer wants, and go from there.”

The plant shown here, built for a Pennsylvania quarry, utilizes a Hazemag 1515 APPH  primary horizontal impact crusher with fully automatic hydraulic cylinder system for increased production capacity, smoother operation and more uniform products.  The crusher inlet opening is 46² high x 60² wide, with 32² cube maximum recommended feed size and is capable of crushing up to 700 tons per hour of shot limestone.  The crusher inlet hood is fabricated of extra heavy-duty steel plate with dual chain curtains.  Crusher power is supplied by two 200 hp electric motors.

Other components include a Simplicity 62² x 18² vibrating grizzly feeder with 60 hp electric motor; Simplicity 5¢ x 6¢ single-deck scalping screen; 54² x 40¢ discharge conveyor; 36² x 28¢ grizzly reject conveyor; an 18¢ x 17-1/3¢ feed hopper with skirt liners; remote pendent or radio controls for crusher, tracks and all other components; and stainless steel control-panel cabinets for long life in any weather.  The chassis and hopper are fabricated of heavy steel plate.  The plant is mounted on 500 mm wide, 3-bar grouser tracks.  Four independent hydraulic legs stabilize the plant for operation.

“A few other manufacturers make track-mounted plants in this size class,” Eilenfeld said.  “But Grasan is the only one I know of that will custom build, especially to this extent, in basic plant design and the use of various component brands.

Grasan is big enough and experienced enough to build exactly what the customer wants and small enough to do it at a competitive price. That’s our niche.”
