Petersen Industries, Inc. will showcase its newest Lightning Loaders models SL-3 and SL-2, stationary mounted grapple loaders for use in topping off at the scales. The SL-3 features a 20-foot boom tipped with a two-thirds cubic-yard clamshell bucket. The unit is remotely controlled from inside the scale house.

New fastening system

Polydeck Screen Corp. plans to exhibit its patented PolySnap Fastening System attachment option. The company says the screen panels can be quickly installed and removed by one person with only a mallet for installation and a screwdriver for removal. Snap head variations are available for standard- or heavy-duty applications and can be used on a range of frame types.

Rugged belt scale

Rice Lake Weighing Systems says its rugged BCi belt scale has a 10,000-ton-per-hour capacity and up to a 1,200-foot-per-minute belt speed. The scale can handle conveyor widths from 18 to 72 inches and features four laterally opposed shear beam load cells mounted in a unitized single idler scale frame. A signal trim TuffSeal environmentally sealed junction box is expandable for multi-idler applications. The non-contact proximity sensor encoder on an 8-inch speed wheel helps ensure the operation runs smoothly, while recording data.

Retrofittable VSI rotor

Sandvik Mining & Construction’s new Hurricane rotor is said to offer breakthrough benefits in VSI autogenous rotor design. Major improvements include increased rotor throughput of up to 30 percent for the same power draw, increased uptime and availability due to reduced overall maintenance, fewer wear parts required, increased commonality of parts that decreases stocking requirements, and decreased vibration levels from the new design.

Stedman Machine Co. says its new patent-pending V-Slam VS-88 vertical shaft impactor features innovative housing and rotor designs with an easy-access low-profile split-swing lid. The unit has a higher operating speed for finer grinding and capacities up to 500 tons per hour.

Stainless-steel control gate

Tecweigh – Tecnetics Industries Inc. plans to highlight its new stainless-steel control gates/slide gates, which are used to provide flow control of aggregate products ranging from sand to 6-inch materials for loadout, batching, and blending applications. The stainless-steel gate is available with either standard or hazardous location (explosion proof) electrical components. The optional CG30 controller is available for individual gate control or as an intermediary between the gate and plant PLC. The gate’s position sensor, flow switch, and open/close limit switch can be tied in directly to the plant PLC.
