Proposed amendments that would allow aggregate extraction in Mountain View County, Alberta are one step closer to becoming law.
The county’s committee last week made recommendations about aggregate extraction, including the use of gravel pits, in the area and have voted to send those recommendations to council, Mountain View Gazette reports .
The committee’s recommendations include noise and dust control regulations, truck limits, implementation of a “buffer zone” and more.
The report notes that, if passed, the amendments would create a new land use district called “aggregate extraction/processing district.”
