MSHA discontinuing hard copy compliance guide

| Published on July 30, 2011

The Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) announced that it will discontinue printing hard copies of its compliance materials. The agency said it “spends a large amount annually on printing and postage associated with hard copy mailing of compliance guidance (e.g. Program Policy Letters, Program Information Bulletins, and Procedure Instruction Letters). Production cost continues to escalate and is not in keeping with the need to manage budgetary resources carefully.”
