MSHA issues Fatalgram after falling material crushes miner

The Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) issued a Fatalgram after a miner was crushed by falling material at Blue Skies Quarry #2 in Georgia. On July 20, 2017, a miner was driving wedges to break loose a piece of granite when a piece of granite weighing 9 tons fell and crushed him against the quarry floor. This is the sixth metal/non-metal fatality reported in 2017 and the second Fall of Material fatality.
