N-Class Vibrating Screen Offers Unique Alternative to Grizzly Feeders

ST CATHARINES, Ontario – W.S. Tyler’s line of N-Class Vibrating Screens features four-bearing eccentric screening technology to help minimize structural vibration and ensure smooth, efficient operation. The technology and design of the N-Class offers a productive, reliable alternative to grizzly feeders, and is ideal for mining scalping applications. Additionally, the N-Class offers self-cleaning action to minimize common issues found with traditional grizzly feeders, including blinding and pegging.
The N-Class is flexible enough to fit into most operations with an apron feeder, yet features advanced eccentric screening technology to handle heavy-duty applications. The eccentric shaft design forces the screen body to follow the shaft movement. While it travels upward, the counterbalance weights move in the opposite direction and create an equal force to that generated by the body. As a result, the forces cancel each other out while generating a consistent positive stroke that minimizes structural vibration and handles material volume spikes without losing momentum. Additionally, it creates a self-cleaning action that reduces blinding and pegging while improving overall screening efficiency.
For further enhanced operation, the N-Class can be used with perforated plate screen media, up to 4-inches thick. Unlike systems that utilize individual grizzly bars, the perforated plate with circular holes does not allow elongated material to get stuck between bars. This prevents bridge building for the fine material commonly found in grizzly feeders. The circular holes feature slightly tapered edges to further minimize plugging and clogging As a result the screen openings on a N-Class stay clear and eliminate all fines prior to reaching the crusher. This minimizes the wear and tear on the crusher, saving the customers substantially on crusher spare parts and maintenance every year
Built for high production rates, the N-Class can process up to 5,000 tons-per-hour and can handle material up to 80-inches by 40-inches in size, and up to 40-inches thick. The N-Class is available in sizes from 4-feet by 8-feet, up to 8-feet by 24-feet, and with inclines from 10- to 20-degrees. Up to 3 screen decks are offered to better accommodate different materials.
All W.S. Tyler screens undergo extensive testing and inspection prior to shipping, including vibration analysis. These inspections ensure proper workmanship, correct balance and smooth operation. During commissioning on-site, the screen is again tested to make sure it achieves optimal performance within the customer’s specific operation and performance targets. The N-Class is backed by a standard 18-month warranty from date of shipment. Additionally, the warranty can be increased with optional customer-specific warranty upgrade packages.
