The Nederland Mining Museum in Boulder County, Colorado, attracted more than 3,200 visitors during the months of June, July and August, according to a report from the Longmont Times-Call [2].

The hard-rock mining museum features memorabilia, documents and equipment from Boulder County’s late 19th and early 20th century rock mining history. All the pieces on display were previously owned by the Nederland Area Historical Society.

The building itself, which Boulder County already owned, is also a part of history. In the late 1930s, the stone structure housed county roads maintenance equipment.

Among materials displayed in the museum are minerals mined in Boulder County, trams, ore cars, miner’s helmets, lamps and lanterns, blacksmithing tools, hoists and boxes that once contained dynamite.
