Vulcan-blocking bill dies in Alabama legislature

The bill was not passed before the Alabama legislature’s session ended Tuesday. The legislation would have halted Vulcan Materials blasting on Gurley Mountain by preventing quarry operations within 2.5 miles of any existing Madison County school.
