Nominations open: Awards of Environmental Excellence
Technological Innovation Award – The Technological Innovation Award recognizes the development of a new practice, design or process to reduce erosion and/or sediment pollution, improve water quality or have other relevant, inter-related environmental improvements.
Young Professional Award – The Young Professional Award recognizes an IECA member who is 30-years of age or less and has demonstrated excellence in their work in the industry and is viewed by his/her IECA peers as an emerging industry leader through significant engagement with the IECA.
“The Awards Committee has worked hard to re-envision the process to recognize the outstanding contributions to the erosion control profession,” said IECA Awards Committee Chair, Sandy Mathews, of the new awards program. “We are looking forward to an outstanding set of nominations. I encourage all members to consider the contributions of their colleagues and nominate individuals, groups or organizations for an award.” Honorees may be nominated by a colleague or be self-nominated, and winners are selected by the IECA Awards Committee and Professional Development Committee. The deadline to submit a nomination for awards presented at EC11 is Nov. 1, 2010.
Complete details on each award category and nomination forms may be found on IECA’s Website at http://www.ieca.org/conference/awards/submit/awardentry.asp.
