Each year, Aggregates Manager recognizes an industry leader for his or her outstanding citizenship, business acumen, and industry leadership. This year, Aggregates Manager is proud to recognize Paul Mellott Jr., as the AggMan of the Year for 2011.
“I can think of no better example of true industry leadership than Paul Mellott Jr.,” says the magazine’s Editor-in-Chief Therese Dunphy. “Paul possesses a unique combination of visionary leadership and strategic thinking. From the evolution of his family business to his nurturing of young talent to his passion for building industry influence on Capitol Hill, Paul creates value for those around him.”
“Paul represents the absolute best of our industry — personally and professionally,” says Ward Nye, president and chief executive officer of Martin Marietta Materials and 2006 AggMan of the Year. “The word that comes to mind with Paul is his integrity; it marks all that Paul touches — operationally, politically, and in his vision for our business.”
The December 2011 issue of Aggregates Manager will feature a four-page article on Mellott. A formal award presentation will be made on March 12, 2012, at an awards ceremony held during the National Stone, Sand & Gravel Association’s annual meeting in Charlotte, N.C.
