Volvo Construction Equipment plans to fit all its larger machines — wheel loaders over 10 tons, articulated haulers, excavators over 12 tons, and motor graders — with its new CareTrack remote monitoring (telematics) system. Through fault reporting, activity warnings, and remote diagnosis, the system allows machine problems to be identified sooner and resolved faster. The plan includes a three-year CareTrack customer subscription enabling owners to enlist the full range of benefits available.

Tier 4 Interim/Stage IIIB engines

Caterpillar introduced five new Tier 4 Interim/Stage IIIB Technology industrial engines — C13 Acert, C15 Acert, C18 Acert, C27 Acert, and C32 Acert. The new engines range from 385 to 1,200 brake horsepower and are available with an extensive choice of options suited to meet original equipment manufacturer and end-customer requirements across a wide range of heavy-duty applications.

Added load capacity

Continental Tire the Americas, LLC added load capacity to its long mileage drive tire. The HDL2 DL (heavy drive long haul, deep lug) tire now includes an offering of load range H in the 11R22.5 size. The company says the tire’s closed-shoulder tread is the deepest at 32/32-inch depth, and the tread design provides traction in both wet and dry road conditions and resists irregular wear. The lug angle provides traction throughout the life of the original tire and a wide casing increases handling stability.

Portable conveyors

The new Roll-Pack series of portable conveyors from KPI-JCI can be quickly transported and unloaded to provide 210 feet of conveyors in minutes. When it’s time to relocate the system, simply restack the three units with the standard built-in roller system and move it to the next site. The series is available in 60- and 70-foot lengths and 30- or 36-inch belt widths.

Withstands tough rock drilling

Rockmore International says its new ROK Series DTH hammer product line — the ROK 875 — features a new design that reduces the number of hammer components and increases drilling efficiency. Its streamlined design features SonicFlow technology, which optimizes airflow by simplifying the air path. The unit is built to withstand the toughest rock drilling conditions with a solid piston design made from case-hardened material. The 8-inch-diameter hammer accepts industry standard drill bits with 16-spline Ingersoll Rand QL8/QL80 shanks.

Crusher with detachable sizing screen

Terex Finlay’s new I-130RS tracked impact crusher incorporates a Cedarapids 1313 impact chamber with hydrostatic drive and electronic control system. The machine features a quick-detach, 12-foot by 5-foot, double-deck screen for sizing and recirculating oversize material back to the crushing chamber. The large hopper features a variable-speed pan feeder and independent pre-screen with constant RPM for optimum separation, even if feeder speed is reduced.
