W.S. Tyler

Customized screen deck

W.S. Tyler says its new TAGG Screen is the first vibrating screen designed specifically to meet the screening demands of the aggregates industry. The screen offers tailor-made deck configurations and a choice of wire or polyurethane cloth, with delivery in five days.

Mobile Equipment

John Deere

New wheeled excavator

John Deere has rolled out the 51,368-pound 220D wheeled excavator. The new 159-horsepower, Tier 3 excavator features wide axles and additional weight for more stability and lift capacity. Its digging depth is 20 feet, 8 inches.

Caterpillar

Proven performance for Cat’s new mining trucks

Caterpillar says its new F-Series mining trucks with C175 16-cylinder diesel engines meet U.S. EPA Tier 2 emissions standards. The 793F mechanical drive truck boasts a faster speed on grade for 5 to 10 percent more productivity than the 793D. The cab features enhanced ergonomics and easy-to-access controls.

Kawasaki

Purpose-built Kawasaki takes on an additional loader size class

Kawasaki’s 92ZV-2 wheel loader features dual Z-linkage for high breakout force; heavy center pins; rubber gasket-sealed front glass; and extended bumpers to protect battery boxes. Cab features include an adjustable declutch and dual-boom kickout control, idle management system, and dual-mode engine switch.

Volvo

Heavy-lifting stability

Volvo Construction Equipment North America, Inc. says its new EW230C wheeled excavator’s design ensures that the rear axle weight, when fitted with the standard counterweight, is below 12 tons. Access to the superstructure via steps allows easy servicing/maintenance. Ninety-five percent of the machine is recyclable, according to the company.

Komatsu

Dozer for mining, heavy construction

Komatsu America Corp. says its new D375A-6 crawler dozer is powered by a Komatsu SAA6D170E-5 engine with an operating weight of 157,940 pounds. Features include a net engine output increase to 636 horsepower; a large multi-lingual LCD color multi-monitor; and an easy-to-read “eco gauge.”

Portable Plants

KPI-JCI

Affordable wheel-mounted machines

KPI-JCI says its new RS Series products — jaw and cone crushers, mobile screens, and washing equipment — are designed for portability and simple operation to provide customers with a variety of options at an affordable price without sacrificing toughness and durability.

Sandvik

Track-mounted mobile crusher

Sandvik’s new QJ340 track-mounted mobile jaw crusher, formerly Fintec’s F1107 mobile jaw crusher, is powered by a C-9 engine that meets all known emissions standards. The unit boasts a large feed opening and high crushing speed for high outputs and excellent product size reduction. A reverse crushing action relieves blockages.

Drilling and Blasting

Atlas Copco

Remote-controlled drill rig

Atlas Copco’s new ROC D3-01 drill rig with built-in, radio-remote-control system is powered by a 116 kW Cummins engine and offers two rock drill options — the 12 kW COP 1240 and the 16 kW COP 1640. The rig can be equipped with R32, T38, and T45 drill steels.

Dyno Nobel

Electronic blast initiation system

Dyno Nobel says its new DigiShot electronic initiation system provides more vibration control, increased crusher throughput, greater highwall stability, and improved operational efficiencies. Blast patterns and timing can be programmed directly or downloaded from a PC-based design program in advance of or on the day of the shot. Write 233 on reader card.

Conveyors and Accessories

Flexco

Next generation belt cleaner

Flexco says its new MHS Cartridge Cleaner slides out from one side of the conveyor or chute wall, allowing a single worker to inspect, service, or replace it in minutes. The side slide-out design doesn’t require workers to crawl underneath the conveyor or be in tight spaces within a chute.

Grasan

Railcar unloading system

Grasan’s bulk material unloading system for railroad hopper cars consists of a 140-foot stationary transfer conveyor with under-car feed hopper and 125-foot radial stacking conveyor. Stationary truss and channel frame conveyors are 24 to 60 inches wide, 25 to 500 feet long; radial stacking conveyors are 24 to 48 inches wide, up to 125 feet long.
