At Booth 50979 (Central Hall), Metso highlights its Lokotrack LT220D, a combination cone crusher and a screen into a single track-mounted plant. The Lokotrack LT220D reduces operational costs in several ways, most notably by lowering fuel consumption and reducing the need for maintenance. In addition, the unit is compact and highly transportable. After a single year, Metso says the unit requires 100 fewer hours of maintenance and offers 300 hours more of effective production time.
“Soaring, unstable fuel prices create demand for plants that are increasingly energy efficient and for new ways to operate. However, you can only increase the efficiency of a single machine up to a certain limit. Going beyond that point requires out-of-the box thinking and new innovations,” says Jarmo Vuorenpää, project manager at Metso Mining and Construction.
A reduced number of transported units and a quick set-up for the machine translate into an increase in effective production time. Hydraulically operated screen lifting and folding side conveyors enable the LT220D to be ready for action in just minutes. The total weight of 105,000 pounds and the compact transport dimensions make it easily transportable.
In addition, the dual machine offers significant fuel savings. Running both the crusher and the screen with a single Cat C13 309-kW diesel engine makes a big difference. An efficient power transmission system enables maximum power for operating. The result is substantially decreased fuel consumption with no compromises on capacity.
The unit is equipped with either Metso’s HP200 or the GP220 cone crusher. An intelligent control system ensures safe and reliable processes in all applications. Paired with Metso’s Lokotrack LT106 mobile jaw plant, the new secondary system can produce up to three finished products.
See the video below for more details about the Lokotrack LT220D.
Track-mounted scalping screen
In addition to the secondary crushing and screening machine, Metso exhibits the new Lokotrack ST2.8 track-mounted scalping screen. The new screen is said to be at its best when the feed material is sticky, wet and difficult, and when high capacity is required. An optional heavy-duty magnetic separator and drums enable the screen to handle even metallic material.
At the core of the ST2.8 is a new Metso high-stroke screen, which provides what the manufacturer calls the highest stroke on the market and more screening area on the second deck compared to other mobile screens in the same size range. The high eccentric throw translates to power in material separation and a large screening area ensures precision in fines separation.
It is powered by a Cat C4.4 diesel engine and a new hydraulic system lower fuel consumption.
The ST2.8 is also lighter than its predecessor and requires no tools or cranes for setup.
Quarry Supply Solutions
In addition to new machines, Metso launches Quarry Supply Solutions – a one-stop shop for all quarry supplies.
The line will offer consumable product supplies, as well as bundles that include training, audit and process optimization packages to improve uptime and productivity in aggregates operations.
Available through Metso’s distributor partners, Metso says its goal is to provide “same day availability of quarry consumables.”
