Volvo Rents acquires Nelico Equipment Service
Volvo Rents has acquired Nelico Equipment Service and Supplies, a three-store operation with construction equipment rental showrooms in Mills and Rock Springs, and a contractor supply location in Casper, Wyoming.
The move comes just one month after Volvo Rents opened its first Wyoming rental center in Cheyenne and puts the provider of small- to medium-sized construction equipment in position to grab a bigger piece of the rental pie that is currently up for grabs in Wyoming.
“Generally, in any market where oil and gas drilling is taking place, we’re seeing an uptick in rentals,” said Mike Crouch, vice president of business development for Volvo Rents, noting Wyoming’s mineral commodities which include coal, natural gas, coalbed methane, crude oil, uranium, and trona. “This obviously puts us in a very favorable position as we continue to expand our footprint throughout Wyoming.”
In addition to Volvo Rents’ expanding line of Volvo compact equipment – such as backhoe and skid steer loaders, compact wheel loaders, compact excavators, and compaction equipment – the more than 7,000-square-foot rental center carries a comprehensive line of essential equipment and tools for the construction, commercial, industrial and homeowner markets. The focus is on daily, weekly and monthly rentals.
”I have great admiration for the integrity of the Volvo Rents management team and their commitment to local decision-making. The company’s culture of taking care of its employees and customers made becoming part of Volvo Rents an attractive and easy decision,” said Carl Nelson, who founded Nelico in 1994. “Volvo Rents is embarking on a significant expansion and I look forward to helping facilitate that growth.”
Nelson will remain active with the operations/management of all three locations as general manager. All 30 of Nelico’s employees will remain employed by Volvo Rents.
Although store hours will be Monday-Friday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., the company offers 24-hour service, every day of the week.
