Luck Stone sponsors rugged races, triathlon
As part of a three-year sponsorship that kicked off last year, Luck Stone served as the presenting sponsor of the 14th annual XTERRA East Championship off-road triathlon and trail running races held June 9-10. This was the 14th year for XTERRA in Richmond, Va.
Luck Stone says it shares a common goal with XTERRA “to empower others to achieve their personal best in an outdoor rugged terrain and to honor the environment.” The aggregates producer adds that it takes leadership, tenacity, and commitment to train for an XTERRA event.
“We are inspired by XTERRA’s athletes and outdoor enthusiasts,” Bob Grauer, president of Luck Stone, said in a press release. “Their grit and determination to be the best in the world and to exceed their goals is something we admire and strive to emulate daily in our business. We are thrilled to be partnering with XTERRA on the East Championship and to bring elite athletes to a city that encourages healthy outdoor activities and environmental stewardship.”
City of Richmond Mayor Dwight C. Jones says that the city of Richmond is playing an active role in getting the community active and engaged in fitness and health awareness with the Healthy Richmond Campaign.
“In partnership with the Friends of James River Park, Luck Stone’s sponsorship will also bring focus on environmental stewardship and showcase one of the best urban park systems in the nation,” Jones noted in a press release issued by Luck Stone.
Luck Stone continues to demonstrate its commitment to the Richmond Community and the environment by preserving open spaces, providing products for public trails and parks, and cleaning up trail way systems throughout the state of Virginia.
