You have questions on the new highway bill? ARTBA has answers…

What are the likely impacts of the new highway/transit law — Moving Ahead for Progress in the 21st Century (MAP-21) — on the U.S. transportation design and construction market? What is the economic forecast for the remainder of 2012? How are the markets faring in each of the 50 states? How are state Departments of Transportation (DOT) planning for 2013? What is the contractor’s outlook for the next year?

These are just some of the many questions I’m sure you have about the new highway bill that was signed into law on July 6 after three years of extensions. (Having lots of questions, though, is better than not having a reauthorization of Safe, Accountable, Flexible, Efficient Transportation Equity Act: A Legacy for Users (SAFETEA-LU), isn’t it?)

To help address these questions — and others you may have — the American Road & Transportation Builders Association (ARTBA) [1] Chief Economist & Vice President of Policy Alison Premo Black, Ph.D., and ARTBA Senior Vice President of Government Relations Dave Bauer will address the likely impacts of the transportation bill during a 75-minute webinar on July 31 from noon to 1:15 p.m. ET. They will also answer questions about MAP-21 or market conditions. Participants will receive the PowerPoint presentation, along with ARTBA’s comprehensive MAP-21 analysis.

To register, click here [2]. The cost is $175 for members of ARTBA and $200 for non-members of the association.

Here is a little bit about the presenters:

Black is responsible for a number of the association’s economic products, reports and state studies, and routinely provides updates at ARTBA national meetings and state chapter events. She earned her doctorate in economics from The George Washington University and has a master’s degree in international economics from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies.
