2018 Spring Thaw Training Workshops now in progress

The metal/non-metal mining industry has begun holding its 2018 Spring Thaw Training Workshops across the country to increase awareness of mining hazards and improve mine safety and health. During the workshops, safety professionals from mining companies, associations, and the Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) share information and experiences on how to deal with a range of mining dangers.

MSHA statistics show that mining accidents tend to increase during April and May when intermittently operated mining operations begin producing again, often with new employees who are unaware of the hazards of mining.

The following is a list of Spring Thaw Workshops beginning Feb. 12 and continuing through March 15:
