Both Kolberg-Pioneer, Inc. (KPI)  and Astec Mobile Screens launched portable machines with patent-pending hybrid technology at ConExpo-Con/Agg.

The GT440 mobile horizontal shaft impactor

A 42x40HSI crusher, available in a 3- or 4-bar rotor configuration, is at the heart of the GT440.

The GT440’s full line features a 42×40 HSI crusher, which can be offered in a 3- or 4-bar rotor configuration, providing an operator with the ability to choose the configuration that best suits his operation. Continuous crushing and tracking is said to increase uptime by 30 percent, while the unit’s Overload Protection System allows end users the ability to maximize performance and production.

“The new GT440 HSI offers producers flexibility through mobility, quick set-up and the new patent-pending hybrid power, which offers the option to run on either line power or diesel power when necessary,” says Stephen Whyte, product manager for KPI-JCI and Astec Mobile Screens.

GT205 Mobile Multi-Frequency Screen

The GT205 hybrid multi-frequency screen can run on either line power or diesel power when necessary.

It features a high-performance 5- by 20-foot screen, with simple controls and a focus on ease of operation for improved uptime. Astec Mobile Screens estimates that – with its multi-frequency technology – operators can expect up to 50 percent higher screening capacity on the bottom deck.

“With the addition of the hybrid technology to the GT205, we are able to offer end users and dealers the latest solutions for their operations in aggregate, recycling, construction, and industrial markets,” Whyte says.
