Make plans to Rock D.C. at the National Stone, Sand & Gravel Association’s (NSSGA) newest event, the Legislative and Policy Forum/Fall Board Meeting Sept. 24-28, 2017. The event is open to anyone in the industry and will feature experts that will lead a variety of breakout sessions on marketing, sales, environmental, and management best practices. Topics of discussion will include Waters of the U.S. rule, the Mine Safety and Health Administration’s (MSHA) civil penalties proposal, and long-term highway funding. Attendees will also get a chance to educate members of Congress on the importance of the aggregate industry to the economy. The event will also provide an opportunity for NSSGA committees to meet.

“If we don’t advocate for our industry, no one else will,” says NSSGA president and CEO Michael W. Johnson in a press release. “We need you to join us and help make an impact in Washington, D.C. We are going to meet with members of Congress as one unified and coordinated team and discuss the laws and regulations that affect our businesses.

NSSGA will hold several sessions to help attendees prepare for their discussions with lawmakers. “All politics are local, and we want to help our members have positive relationships with their local politicians with these face-to-face meetings,” Johnson says in the press release.
