VIDEOS of the Week: The ins and outs of the gyratory crusher at Sloan Quarry

Kerry Clines

May 26, 2017

The videos below were taken at Aggregate Industries‘ Sloan Quarry near Las Vegas. They show the inner workings and the results of the large Traylor 55 x 84 gyratory crusher in the primary plant on the side of the mountain. The crusher is capable of processing up to 1,300 tons of material per hour, reducing it from a 12-inch-plus rock to an 8-inch-minus rock. Once the material passes through the crusher, it is transported by conveyor to the primary surge pile.

After watching the videos below, be sure to read all about Sloan Quarry in the May issue of Aggregates Manager.
