Associated Builders and Contractors, Inc. (ABC) presented Jack B. Parson Ready Mix Concrete, a Staker Parson and CRH company, with the Diamond Safety Training Evaluation Process (STEP) Award during its Excellence in Construction Awards Ceremony in March 2018. The company had to meet strict safety criteria guidelines, including a total recordable incident rate 50 percent below the industry average, and zero fatalities that resulted in Occupational Safety and Health Administration citations within the past three years. The company was also required to have its employees actively involved in safety, trained in identification and control of hazards, have a designated safety personnel, and have all employees sign a drug and alcohol free workplace pledge.
