The National Stone, Sand & Gravel Association (NSSGA) announced that Doug Palmore, Luck Companies‘ senior vice president of customer and technical services, will receive the 2017 Barry K. Wendt Memorial Commitment Award during NSSGA’s Annual Convention on March 6, 2017.

“We are proud to present our association’s most distinguished individual award to Doug for recognition of his years of service to our industry, his positive work ethic, and selfless volunteer leadership,” says Michael W. Johnson, NSSGA president and CEO, in a press release.

NSSGA’s Manufacturers and Services Division established the award to recognize an individual in the industry who exhibits the dedication exemplified by Barry Wendt, both in commitment to the industry and service to the community in which they live.

“Doug successfully wears many hats at Luck Companies, and yet he also finds time to use his knowledge and expertise to promote sound science and combat over-regulation on behalf of the entire industry,” says Norman Jetmundsen, vice president and associate general counsel at Vulcan Materials Co., in the press release. “He does not always get the recognition he deserves because he is humble and does not draw attention to himself. He’s a pleasure to know and to work with, and he is very dedicated to our industry. I am glad to see that he is being recognized for the many unselfish hours of service to all aggregates operations, Luck Companies, his family, and his community.”
