MLPA recognizes Missouri operations with safety records

Missouri Limestone Producers AssociationThe Missouri Limestone Producers Association (MLPA) honored more than 80 stationary and portable plant crews with the MLPA Safety Award for their records of safety and outstanding performance in 2016. Categories include the Safety Commendation For No Lost-Time Accidents, Consecutive Years Without A Lost-Time Accident Award, and the Multiples of 100,000 Hours Without A Lost-Time Accident Award.

“Each year the Missouri Limestone Producers Association recognizes companies for their commitment to workplace safety, and we commend them for their records in operating a safe workplace,” says Jacci Gamble, MLPA’s Safety Committee Chairwoman, in a press release. “It is important that we recognize companies who set exemplary safety records, and acknowledge them in their efforts to promote health and safety at their respective worksites.”

“These awards are a reminder each year of the importance of safety in our industry and the commitment by our members to the well-being of industry employees,” says MLPA Executive Manager, Morgan Mundell, in the press release. “The MLPA is proud to showcase and recognize this commitment.”

  • 21 Years – Boone Quarries (West Quarry)
  • 24 Years – Boone Quarries (East Quarry)
  • 26 Years – Central Stone Co. (Knox County Stone)
  • 28 Years – Beyer Crushed Rock

The following companies achieved more than 500,000 hours without a lost-time accident:

  • 700,000 hours – Central Stone Co. (Knox County Stone)
  • 800,000 hours – Martin Marietta (Parkville Mine)
  • 900,000 hours – Martin Marietta (Stamper Mine)
