Serious Accident Alert: Miner struck on the head by falling rock

The Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) issued a Serious Accident Alert after a miner was struck by a rock. On Feb. 8, 2018, a plant operator  at a limestone quarry was shoveling material from around a crusher when a rock fell from the surge bin deck above. The rock struck the miner on the head, splitting his hardhat and causing a serious head injury.
