Scalping solution

Polydeck Screen will unveil its new Armadex line of screen media at AGG1. The media is manufactured using BIM (Binary Injection Molding) technology. The company says this technology incorporates a two-step process, which puts premium natural rubber blend under extreme pressure, resulting in a high-density, long-wearing panel. Sections are available up to 4 inches thick and in sizes up to 48 inches by 96 inches. The BIM process also allows customization options.

Conveyor belt cleaner

Martin Engineering plans to introduce its new PV Cleaner at AGG1. The belt cleaner is a durable, one-piece blade that contains approximately 20 percent more urethane than comparable primary cleaners. The company says its aggressive design removes even wet, sticky sand from belts. The mounting system is simple, allowing the unit to be dropped into place and secured with a wire lock pin. The belt cleaner features the company’s Constant Angle Radial Pressure (CARP) design — a specially engineered curved blade that maintains the same contact angle, even as the belt wears, helping to retain cleaning efficiency. It fits head pulleys up to 16 inches in diameter and belt widths from 12 to 72 inches.

Advanced powertrain system

Caterpillar’s new 966K XE wheel loader will be on display at AGG1. The company says the loader delivers up to a 25-percent improvement in fuel efficiency meeting the needs for both efficiency and sustainability, while simplifying the operator’s interface and operating technique. It features a C9.3 ACERT diesel engine; an integrated, continuously variable transmission system; and a hydraulic pump and motor that allow smooth and continuous gear ration change between engine speed and machine speed. The operator has the ability to control maximum ground speed through the use of virtual gears to provide flexibility in various applications.

High-capacity screening

Metso says its new Lokotrack ST2.4 mobile screen achieves high screening capacity and low fuel consumption thanks to its optimized hydraulic design and state-of-the-art control system. The two-stage screen can produce three clean end-product sizes in one process through smart material flow and the use of first-class components. The hydraulic opening of the screen makes servicing — from cleaning to media change — easy and safe. The screen can be equipped with a variety of media, from steel mesh to Trellex rubber and polyurethane, as well as a vibrating apron feeder with grizzlies or finger bars. The screen box size is 5 feet by 12 feet.

Discharge-point dust suppression

Dust Control Technology’s new DustBoss DB-R Ring is designed specifically for use at conveyor discharge points. The stainless-steel ring is outfitted with a network of atomizing nozzles that deliver millions of 50- to 200-micron droplets per minute, creating a virtual curtain around the material flow to provide simple, focused dust management. The unit is available in five standard sizes ranging from 17 inches to 100 inches in diameter. All sizes can be customized with Variable Particle Sizing technology, which allows customers to specify different droplet size ranges to match specific materials. The number and size of the spay nozzles vary by model.

Updated jaw

Powerscreen improved its X400S jaw crusher by incorporating a fully independent, high-amplitude, hydraulically driven pre-screen with increased drop angle on the bottom deck. The company says the pre-screen removes a large percentage of the fines within the feed material before it enters the jaw chamber, resulting in a cleaner crushed product. The discharge opening from the under chute has been increased from 8 inches to 12-3/4 inches, allowing pre-screened material to bypass the crushing chamber quickly. The side conveyor features an increased width from 24 inches to 26 inches and an improved discharge height of 9 feet, 2 inches.

For large-scale operations

IRock Crushers’ new TS-522 heavy-duty screener, one of five models, is suitable for medium- to large-scale operations. The company says it features extra hopper capacity, a class-leading screening area, and the highest stockpiling capability of any screener of its size. The screener is capable of processing materials at a rate of up to 670 tons per hour. The unit’s 14-foot-wide hopper feeder is rated to 12 cubic yards. A 22-foot by 5-foot top deck and a 20-foot by 5-foot bottom deck offer a total screening area of 210 square feet. The two-deck design allows users to produce and sort up to three different size products. A three-deck version that can sort four sizes is also available. Hydraulically folding side conveyors are able to stockpile up to 16 feet, 8 inches; the tail conveyor can stockpile up to 16 feet, 2 inches.

Increased efficiency

The new MHS8203 horizontal screen module from Terex Minerals Processing Systems features the Terex Cedarapids LF-TS screen with ElJay oval stroke action. Key features include an extra heavy-duty beam frame, rigid diagonal truss construction, and a galvanized steel structure. The module and all its components are CE compliant. The complete line consists of several pre-designed static and semi-static crushing and screening ‘plug and play’ modules. Set up is said to be easy — modules bolt together on site and require minimal on-site wiring.

Nimble dozers

Komatsu says its new line of D37-23 and D39-23 crawler dozers — designed using customer feedback — are smarter, more productive, and operator friendly. The dozers offer new operator-specific features in a compact 89- or 105-horsepower package. Operating weights range from 18,386 pounds to 21,363 pounds, depending on configuration and model. The steeply sloped engine hood and forward cab design provide improved blade visibility. A newly designed PAT blade features a durable box structure and good curvature for rolling material. Standard adjustable blade pitch allows the operator to adjust the aggressiveness of the cutting edge.
