Staker Parson Companies received a National Stone, Sand & Gravel Association (NSSGA) Silver Excellence in Community Relations Award, which recognizes and encourages outstanding relations amongst aggregate producers.
“Community relations is a very important aspect of our business,” says Cami Dellamore, Staker Parson’s marketing coordinator, in a press release. “We strive to be good neighbors to everyone in our community and do our best to make the areas we live and work in a better place.”
A big part of Staker Parson’s community relations efforts are focused on helping children. Every year, the company visits local schools to help educate students about mining and aggregate production with their Rocks Build Our World program, which coincides with the fourth grade geology science curriculum. It also attends or hosts STEM fairs and donates the use of its giant sandbox for children to play in at various community events.
“We strive to be the Preferred Source, but what better way to show how we sustain and help build our communities than by sharing it with the next generation,” says Tyler Petersen, Staker Parson’s driver mentor, in the press release. “Not only does Rocks Build Our World give us that opportunity, but the kids have fun and learn at the same time. The sandbox is just another fun way to get out into the community. We are a family of families, and we all help build our communities, and the sandbox helps bring everyone together. I mean who doesn’t want to go play in a giant sandbox?”
