Summit Materials appoints Steven H. Wunning to its Board of Directors

summit-grid-logoSummit Materials, Inc. appointed Steven H. Wunning to its board of directors on Aug. 10, 2016, bringing the number of board members to nine. Wunning will also serve on the Compensation Committee.

“We welcome Steve, with his more than 40 years of industry experience leading global operations and driving improved performance,” says Tom Hill, CEO of Summit, in a company press release. “Steve brings to the Board a valuable perspective as a successful business executive and seasoned board member. His deep acumen in managing expanding organizations, implementing best-in class logistics practices and integrating complex acquisitions will be a positive contribution to Summit’s materials-based growth objectives.”

In the press release, Howard Lance, Chairman of Summit, adds, “We are delighted that Steve has agreed to join our Board. Steve is a great addition to this group and we anticipate he will add significantly to the depth and quality of our decision-making processes.”

Wunning obtained his Bachelor of Sciences degree in Metallurgical Engineering from Missouri University of Science and Technology, and an executive Masters of Business Administration from the University of Illinois.
