Superior Industries announced May 1 that it had purchased Canadian portable plant manufacturer MFE Manufacturing.

MFE is a Miramichi, New Brunswick, family-owned company that has designed and built for 68 years portable plants for the aggregates, construction and material handling industries.

In recent years, MFE has become known for manufacturing portable process plants such as jaw and cone crushing systems, screen plants and belt feeders at it’s 25,000-square-foot plant on the Miramichi River.

Superior said in a press release that acquiring MFE will allow the company to grow the portable plant designs it already offers and that both MFE and Superior share a goal to incorporate the customers’ input into the products created.

The MFE plant in New Brunswick is in a strategic location for Superior to boost it’s North American portfolio, adding a Northeast presence to locations in the Northwest, Southwest, Southeast and Midwest.
